Sage Magazine (print)

A singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, Sydney Fay’s sound is piano-based, old jazz-influenced, and bossa-nova inspired. After spending time pondering the sacrifices she would have to make to follow her music dream and a lot of time working on her music, she realized that the answer was yes, she was willing to make those sacrifices. That had always been the answer. Influenced by greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Astrud Gilberto, Sydney is currently working on an EP of three acoustic songs that she and her partner have been developing throughout quarantine. This will be the first project she has mixed and mastered by herself, and it is set to be released mid-November. In the future, Sydney is looking to release a full-length album and collaborate with artists who have continually inspired her.

To listen to her music you can find her on any streaming platform under Sydney Fay or follow her journey at @sydneyfay_ on Instagram.
